About Jesse

My professional joy is to bring profound relaxation experiences to visitors to Ensenada and access to fun adventures we have to offer here.  I want others in my circle to feel relaxed in their bodies and have fun outdoor adventures.

That’s my jam and it flows from my life!

Connecting through touch has been part of my whole life and just the last decade of my working life. As a kid, I loved giving my father shoulder massages from the back seat on our family weekend road trips to the Mississippi River in South East Wisconsin. Later, on my first travel to a developing country at age of 21, I took my personal vacation time to study foot reflexology and massage at Thailand’s Wat Pho Temple.

I was fully in financial consultant mode and had no dreams of massage.

Only 10 years later my planned life crumbled. I was full of anxiety and stressed out from travel consulting during the great recession. A month after my beloved partner left, and I was diagnosed with testicular cancer while living in Mexico far from my family.  I was shattered.

I took care of cancer and recovered in Ensenada with my new puppy, Tina (the boxer in the picture above).

I discovered a local massage school and found that giving massage helped my anxiety, and was healing for me. I just felt awesome! So, with additional training and mentorship from San Diego’s International School of Bodywork, I began the massage lifestyle.

Over the last 12 years I have organically grown my massage work into Ensenada Massage.  When covid came, we began to focus on mobile work and Valle de Guadalupe Mobile Spa e was born.  And exiting covid, I found myself traveling more and wanting fun and adventure, so I cofounded a shore excursions company, Ensenada Excursions and Tours.

So my life has evolved from healing myself to finding financial stability, and a healthy lifestyle, and now traveling and adventuring more.  It seems pretty natural for me now, but looking back it was just taking the next step that seemed right.

These 12 years here have been wonderful.  I enjoy sharing my experience and tips for travel and life here.  Ensenada and Mexico have a lot to offer, and I blog occasionally about the most asked questions.

I live in a tiny beach studio on Playa Hermosa Beach in Ensenada with my dogs, Tina, and Lola.  Just keeping life healthy, and simple, and looking for opportunities for fun travel adventures and love.  I road trip down to Baja Sur when I can, taking Tina and Lola on adventures.

Massage Philosophy:  I view the body as more of an organism to be relaxed and less of a machine to be fixed.  My focus is to connect with and relax the nervous system and allow healing or rest from within.  This involves touch, also scents, smells, sound, and quietness.

Many of the emotional disturbances and physical discomforts resolve themselves with great body care.

Hobbies: Kettlebells, Yoga, Reading, Scuba, Adventure travel, Getting Massage!
